From the mountains, to quiet country roads, and everything in between, the Rock n Roller – Old Fort Edition, is a new annual event and an excellent training ride for the entire cycling season.  Each year a unique route will be chosen, so no matter how many times you participate, you’ll never see the same course twice.  Riders will experience the Blue Ridge Mountains, have panoramic views of lakes, rivers, local greenways, plenty of climbs, and plenty of fair but demanding challenges along the way.

The event will feature two routes:  One approximately 60 miles for the experienced cyclist (“Hard Rock”), and one approximately 21 miles for the intermediate/beginner (“Soft Rock”).  Both will take riders into the beauty of America’s cycling wonderland, western North Carolina.

The Rock n Roller raises funds for the Fonta Flora State Trail development that will connect three counties with nearly 100 miles of contiguous trails.  The McDowell Trails Association, a non-profit organization that partners with local and state governments, agencies, clubs, and associations to create greenways, blueways, and non-motorized trails to promote health, recreation, and economic opportunity, will coordinate the event.

The Rock n Roller – Old Fort Edition registration will make both a great Christmas gift to yourself or someone you love and be the perfect preparation event for the Assault on Mt. Mitchell, occurring three weeks later.

Put it on your calendar and become a part of a great new tradition!
